The conference highlighted the microfilm document collections of the DoD's Open House Program, deposited in the European Div. of the Library of Congress & open to the public for research. This Program was initiated in 1996 ended in Sep. 2000. For nearly 5 years, the DoD worked with the Polish Central Military Archives in Warsaw, the Hungarian War History Archives in Budapest, & the Archives of the Ministry of National Defense in Bucharest, using equipment & supplies provided by the DoD. Approximately 800 reels of microfilmed documents were produced.
