In September 2016, the Ministers for Co-operation adopted the “New Nordic Region” (Nyt Norden 2.0) reform package as the next stage in this work. It states that the Nordic Council of Ministers’ budget must be used in more dynamic ways, which are relevant to the Nordic governments, business and civil society. This places new demands for greater flexibility on budgets so that they can cope with the social challenges of the day.
