The samples originated from the LeVesconte Mound, whose time frame was just prior to the emergence of effective maize horticulture, the Bennett site, dating just prior to the Middle Ontario Iroquois cultural horizon during which time some investigators suggest that the Ontario Iroquois became heavily dependent upon maize horticulture, and the Kleinburg ossuary, representative of a late proto-historic Ontario Iroquois population.
