Book excerpt: This book contains a selection of 150 of the easier puzzles from the previous three volumes of the "Unplugged Crosswords" series. We refer to these puzzles as "easy(ish)" because they are by no means simplistic or juvenile. We've just left out the trickery, confusing clues and complex themes that are found in the tougher puzzles, while retaining a good mix of vocabulary and trivia to challenge and entertain a wide range of solvers. Large grids with plenty of room to write your answers. Mostly "daily" size themed puzzles, with a few "Sunday" size puzzles near the back of the book. Unofficially rated G for everyone's enjoyment. Freelance crossword constructor Mark McClain grew up in Oklahoma and now lives in Salem, Virginia, near the Appalachian Trail and Blue Ridge Parkway. His puzzles appear regularly in nationally syndicated outlets and have been published in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Newsday, The Wall Street Journal, Simon & Schuster MEGA Crossword Puzzle Book, The Crosswords Club, Penny Press magazines and other specialty and regional publications.
