Book excerpt: As at the time of writing this book, MAKING YOUR SUNDAY SCHOOL MORE INTERESTING, I have taught hundreds of Sunday School Students, administered Sunday schools as Director of Christian Education and trained thousands of Sunday School teachers from about four hundred (400) churches, for thirty (30) years. For Twenty one years, I have served as Senior Pastor of small, medium and mega churches, with thriving Sunday School ministries. The truth is: there are many teachers and administrators of Sunday School with far greater, longer and better experience in the field, but their experiences are not made available for upcoming teachers and leaders. This is the number one reason why I wrote the book. In my over thirty years of sojourn in the field of Sunday School, I have noticed disturbing decline in attendance. Adults no longer find Sunday School interesting. In fact, more disturbing is the trend among teens and youths who regard Sunday School as very boring, uninteresting and irrelevant. Barna group research revealed that 65 % of Teens Girls and 75% of Teens boys drop out of Sunday School at this stage. My book 101 WAYS TO ATTRACT, RETAIN AND TRAIN YOUTHS AND TEENS IN YOUR CHURCH record that "fewer teens, 20%, are attending Sunday School today". This is the second reason why I wrote this book. Most church leaders and Senior Pastors do not know how to make Sunday School work. Some churches sandwitch Sunday School between church programs. Some Pastors still regard Sunday School as a department or as another church programme. Some churches don't know the purpose of Sunday School. As Myles Munroe once stated "When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. "Some churches view Sunday School as a parasite program, draining money, with no value added to the church Some see Sunday School as a "dead horse" in their churches but are afraid to bury it. Some Senior Pastors are bold, they have since buried the horse and scrapped Sunday School entirely from their Church life. This is the third reason why I wrote this book: to show Pastors and leaders how to make Sunday School work and really interesting. If you want your church Sunday school to transform to the growth of your church, then consider to order for this book NOW!
