Book excerpt: In July 2007, the Ad Hoc Group of Experts on Harmonization of Fossil Energy and Mineral Resources Terminology assembled a Task Force on Mapping to synchronize the United Nations Framework Classification for Fossil Energy and Mineral Resources (UNFC) with the classification systems of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, World Petroleum Council, American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Committee for Mineral Reserves International Reporting Standards and the Russian Federation. The Task Force's recommendations are included in the report.
