Book excerpt: TRC conducted Phase I investigations and Phase II testing at the Shipman's Wharf tract, located 12 miles east of Beaufort, SC, between Coffin Creek and Coffin Point Road, bounded on the north by Oakland Drive and on the south by private property. Testing identifies discrete deposits of cultural material and intact subsurface features with significant loci contributing to the NRHP eligibility of this site. TRC recommends that five identified significant areas of site 38BU2175 be avoided by any ground-disturbing activities.
