Before long they manage to persuade Jasper's old Selous partner, Henry, to join them. Jasper becomes an expert on the subject of the southern African elephant. Through his friends in the nation's capital, Jasper becomes involved in the corrupt world of ivory poaching, working to save the elephant from extinction.
