Section one offers a discussion of the main features that characterize the "new regionalism", in trade between countries. The second section highlights some of the major challenges confronting developing countries in regard of regional trade agreements and the multilateral trading system (MTS). The final section focuses on the issue of regionalism and trade in services, analyzing some of the main issues that need addressing at the World Trade Organization.
