The U.S. intelligence agencies gave them sanctuary due to their opposition to communism, in order to make use of their knowledge of Eastern Europe. The U.S. took this action despite strong evidence that these people were guilty of war crimes. Shows that all high ranking Belorussian Nazi collaborators (Radaslaw Astrowsky, Frants Kushal, Stanislaw Stankevich, Emanuel Jasiuk, etc.) took part, in some form, in the genocide of the Jews, in particular in the mass murders in Borisov and Kletsk in 1941.
