There are three phases to each psychological problem: the nature, the cause, and the means of cultivation or elimination. The problem of sociability can be analyzed in such manner. What is the nature of sociability, what are the forces or factors that constitute the trait, and finally, if it is capable of being developed, how does it develop? The main task of the present study is to ascertain the relationship, if there is any, between sociability as judged by teachers and fellow pupils on the one hand, and the various factors responsible for it, separated or combined, on the other.
