It also examines Woolfs position as a feminist as far as androgyny is concerned , and stresses on the significance of time as it crosses socially constructed boundaries and its relation to psychoanalysis. The second is devoted to the analysis of Orlando, whereas the third to Mrs. Dalloway, in so far as these concepts are presented in each. After the characters are examined an analogy is drawn between the two novels to capture the essence of Woolfs androgyny. In the final analysis this thesis shows that Woolf crosses out boundaries not only between past and present but also between the genders jn order to accomplish a total androgynous state of being.
