Book excerpt: The reinstatement fee imposed pursuant to K.S.A. 1996 Supp. 8-2110(c) for failure to comply with a traffic citation is based on the number of separate and distinct charges set forth in the citation. The court should assess a $50 for each charge on which the person fails to comply, regardless of the final disposition of those charges. However, if the citation contains alternative charges, the fee should be assessed for only one of the alternatives.
