Book excerpt: By observing the density of connections and exchanges that inform educational practices, policies, and systems on both a local and an international scale, this book demonstrates the multilateral character of the circulatory dynamics in the field of education, and extends our knowledge of the evolution of educational policies and systems. It also shows that the phenomena of resistance, reinterpretation, and rejection are an integral part of transnational mechanisms of exchanges, and thus demonstrates the relevance of a historical approach in addressing transnational mechanisms in the field of education and childhood policy.
