Bee hives are kept in an apiary or bee yard. Bees play a vital role in the natural and agricultural ecosystems. Besides their valuable and healthy products, bees and other pollinators like butterflies help in pollinating approximately three-quarters of plants that produce about 90% of world food. The person who maintains the beehives is known as an apiarist or a beekeeper.
