Phytochemical study revealed the presence of carbohydrates, tannins, flavonoids, glycosides and alkaloids in the ethanolic extract of Commelina appendiculata. In Swiss albino mice, analgesic, cns depressant and antidiarrhoeal activity were investigated. The extract was also evaluated for cytototoxic activity.
