India accords constitutional protectio and affirmative action to its scheduled castes and tribes, yet, willingly or unwillingly, state actions deprive the STs of their basic economic resources, i.e.forest, land and water Clandestine encroachment is being made in tribal areas by commercial interests linked to a world-wide net-work of the flora and Fauna.
