Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Celtic folklore speaks of a people that are part human/part seal. They are called Selkies; sometimes they come to shore to sunbathe, removing their seal skin and leaving them prey for fisherman to steal and hide. If this happens they have to marry him and have his children. Though many Selkies are happily married they still always seem to feel drawn back to the sea and their seal families, even at the cost of leaving behind ones they love on land. After years of searching many find their hidden skin and return to the sea as a seal staying close, keeping watch over them from the great sea. The children left behind are sometimes called Darkies because of their dark eyes and hair with pale skin from the Selkie bloodline. Most descendants of the Selkie feel a very strong connection with the ocean, the call of its waves, and a kinship with the seal.
