Book excerpt: Joseph Yard (1647-1716) was the son of George Yard (1586-1665) of Churston Ferrers, Devon, England. Joseph Yard and his wife, probably Mary Salisbury, were married in Devon. They had at least seven children. The family immigrated to America before 1687 and settled at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Record lists some other descensendents but chiefly gives some descendants of their son, William Yard (1674-1744), who died at Trenton, New Jersey. Descendants listed lived in New Jersey, Colorado and elsewhere. Record chiefly traces male lines only.
