Sometimes, life situations break our hearts and force us to lament like the psalmist in Psalm 60:1-3 who cried, "O God, You have rejected us. You have broken us; You have been angry; O, restore us. You have made the land quake, You have split it open; Heal its breaches, for it totters. You have made Your people experience hardship; You have given us wine to drink that makes us stagger." However, we must understand that in the pains of life there is purpose and in the breaking there is the making. If we stay connected to God during the storm, He will calm the raging sea and give us the victory as stated in verse 12 of the said Psalm, "With God we gain the victory, and He will trample down our enemies." There is the popular view that after a stillbirth, miscarriage or the loss of a child, the only true healing is having another child to fill the void but this account proves otherwise. There is true healing in Jesus Christ with the bonus of restoration.
