A MINESWEEPER puzzle consists of a square or rectangular grid in which a number of mines have been laid. Some of the cells contain a hazard flag which has a number indicating how many of the adjacent cells (horizontally, vertically and diagonally) contain a mine. To solve the puzzle, you must determine which of the un-flagged cells contain a mine. Each puzzle has a unique solution and no guessing is required to reach a correct solution. Please refer to the solutions pages at the end of the Minesweeper section for examples. This is a beautiful and fun set of high-intensity challenges, but note that the puzzles rotate in difficulty on a 7-puzzle cycle. A typical WORD-SEARCH puzzle consists of a matrix of letters in which a number of words are embedded. The words may run up or down, forward or backward, or in any diagonal direction. A list of the words used in each puzzle is provided. Due to the complexity and size of these Word Search puzzles, they can be considered "challenging." Sudoku X In a normal Sudoku puzzle all rows, columns and 3x3 boxes must be filled with the numbers 1 to 9 without repeating a number. There are nine 'cells' in every row, column and box. In Sudoku X, the two diagonals containing nine cells and sharing the central grid cell must also be filled with exactly 1 to 9.
