Criteria were success in Air Force technical training and scores achieved on job proficiency tests. By a multiple regression technique standard beta weights and a squared multiple correlation coefficient were derived for 16 predictors against both criteria for 36 criterion groups. Components of four aptitude indexes were selected by reviewing the frequency with which tests appeared among the best four predictors within each of four job clusters.
