It is expected that the third volume Will cover the other thirty-seven counties. For detailed descriptions of the various types and series of county records and for other explanatory material, reference should be made to the General Introduction to the Series and the Introduction to the County Records, Volume I, pages 1-129. These pages are available as a separate reprint. The copy for this volume has been prepared by the Historical Records Survey of the Works Progress Administration. Dr. Luther H. Evans is National Director of the Survey, and since July 1, 1937, Mr. Dan Lacy has been State Director for North Carolina.
