It reviews the current structure of the white maize economies in developing countries and analyzes the supply and demand situations, both current and protected. Several trends emerging from this analysis are discussed, along with possible implications for research. The paper also examines the major constraints to production of white maize and policy options that could help increase the output and quality of this crop throughout the developing countries.
